H Family | Clayton NC Family Photographer

I took this family's maternity photos in March, so I was thrilled when they asked me to take some 2 month photos with their new sweetheart.  They wanted to do the session in adorable downtown Clayton.  It was over 90 degrees at 6 pm [?!] when we took these photos, but everyone was great sport, even baby girl.  The light was absolutely beautiful, and I hope you enjoy this 2 month peek of the H family, now featuring baby C!

Baby S | Clayton, NC Newborn Photographer

It was so fun meeting this sweet family of 4.  Baby S was such a quiet, chill newborn.  She fought sleep hard, but eventually gave in for just long enough to get all the shots we needed :).  Big brother was a sweetheart too with his tiny teeth and amazing red hair.  Between baby S's newborn squishiness and big brother blowing me kisses, I was in baby photographer heaven! I love how natural this shoot turned out, and these are just a few of my favorites.  I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek of baby S...6 days new!
My husband told me this post needed more dog photos haha, so I had to add this one of sweet Winston. ;)  Have a great weekend!

K Family Part One | Chapel Hill, NC Lifestyle Photographer

I've said this many times, but lifestyle photography is my favorite.  One of my favorite birth photographers, Lindsey Scholz, put it this way in a recent interview: "When people plan for a portrait session they buy all new clothes, shoes, get their hair done, nails painted, shave, spend tons of money on things NEW. Forced smiles happen, uncomfortable posing...Why try to represent brand new when you can simply be you. That is what lifestyle photography is. Documenting You."  I love that quote because it's truly how I feel about lifestyle photography.  It captures families in genuine moments, with real emotions and connections.  I am so happy that many of my recent clients have trusted me to capture these intimate family moments.  This family was so welcoming, and the girls were just SO adorable and well spoken.  I have so many favorites from this shoot that it is going to take me TWO blog posts to finish the sneak peek! [The first two-part blog sneak I have EVER done!]  I hope you enjoy Part One of this lifestyle session.  There is more to come :).
^ By the way...they are performing "Do you want to build a snowman?" <3
