Last weekend I got to photograph some sweet girls in traditional Korean and traditional Cuban clothing.  It was so fun to see these families embracing and sharing their cultures with their daughters.  The outfits were so special and detailed, and the girls couldn't stop looking at each other!  I bet you don't often see outfit changes like this on your everyday one-year shoot, so I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

As I've said in the past, I LOVE lifestyle sessions.  They are truly unpredictable and natural, with no posing.  I love the emotion and energy you can capture in a lifestyle shoot, so when this mommy contacted me to let me know she was interested in a more natural, candid shoot I was all-in!  It was SLIGHTLY challenging to capture these energetic twin toddlers doing what they do, but it was so much fun!  I had a great time watching them play, read, and make fun dough together.  Thanks for letting me document your boys in their natural environment :), and I hope you enjoy the peek!

 For the last few minutes I was there, the boys kept saying "Bye bye Ashy, pictures all done." So I'd say they were definitely happy to wave goodbye ;) !

Macro Mania | Backwards Free-lensing with a 50mm

So, I was perusing the internet the other day and found out that you can use a 50mm to take macro photography if you turn it backwards!  I have always tried many different methods to take ring shots in the past because I do not have a macro lens.  I am so excited to try this method out at an actual shoot, but for now I've gone a little macro crazy in my yard!  I will warn you that you have no control over the aperture settings.  My advice is to crank up the ISO and slow the shutter to as slow as you can manage.  These were taken at ISO 1,000 [on my new camera! :)] Here are some shots using this method [the pullback shots are using the 50mm attached normally], so please ignore the weeds in my succulent garden...
